AndreL did a great job creating the Linux Agora banner. Unfortunately, he longer frequents the forum. I have tried sending an email but he doesn't respond. :) It is a shame he is no longer here.

I have tried to duplicate his lettering technique for the banner, particularly the outlined text in "Linux Agora". I have been unable to create that effectively.

Does anyone know how he produced that lettering?

Thank you

This should do the trick:

- Launch Inkscape.
- Create a text object (using the palette icon).
- Type some text.
- Select the text, and choose "Text and font..." from the "Text" menu.
- Tinker with the font and size.
- Select the whole object.
- Choose "Fill and stroke..." from the "Object" menu.
- In the "Stroke paint" tab, paint the stroke as a solid color.
- In the "Stroke style" tab, select round joins, and alter the width to your likening.

That should do the trick ;).

Thank you, Daniel

I don't see how you have so much information readily available. You must be plugged into a Cray Super Computer!

Most Crays are fairly slow these days ;). They are not very popular (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/68/Top500.procfamily.png
) anymore, so most Crays that are still around are old.

Useless trivia, but I was happy to see that x86 and Linux (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3e/Top500_OS.png) are doing so well .
