While reviewing my yellowed copy of K & R C, I decided to look up the whereabouts of Kernighan, Ritchie, and Thompson.

Ken Thompson - http://www.cs.bell-labs.com/who/ken/

All are still active in programming. Ken Thompson is now working for Google.

While reading a thread on the Microchip forum, I ran across a link to this history of the development of "The C Programming Language" (and ultimately Unix). I always wondered where the file name "a.out" came from. It stands for: assembler output. :cool: I found it a very interesting read.
