Networkmanager and OpenVPN

I got OpenVPN working on my firewall at home, but how do you configure network manager (NM) to manage it? I can run openvpn as root and it reads the .opvn config file and connects, but NM is not so intelligent as to be able to import or read the config file. I thought I copied the settings into NM correctly, but it still will not connect.

Has anyone gotten NM to manage OpenVPN?
