In an earlier post someone mentioned a concern about the iMac's operating temperatures as observed in the showroom setting.
It finally became warm enough here in Houston to take some readings when the ambient temperature here in the house was near the maximum we allow it to go during the summer.
Operating conditions:
The ambient temperature in the house: 81 degrees Fahrenheit (26.7 C)
iMac 22" - Viewing a streaming video, iMac had been operating for several hours prior to video
Approximately 1 hour into video -
Top air vent - left: 107 degrees Fahrenheit (41.7 C)
Top air vent - right: 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40.5 C)
Note: the lower half of the case in the rear was cool to the touch. The maximum case temperature was at the exhaust vent across the top.
