Just a note that the machine mentioned in the subject seems to work excellently with Debian Sid. I installed Sid plus the latest kernel from Experimental to be on the cutting edge. The only thing that doesn't work yet is connecting to my Airport Extreme (although wireless seems to work). It's a nice machine for a good price: Core i3 3GHz, 6GB memory, 1TB harddisk, ATI Radeon HD 5450 GPU.

I am also hapilly surprised how much progress the GNOME desktop made since my defection to OS X. The Telepathy framework and Pulseaudio really start to take off, and GNOME Do is becoming a smooth experience.

Wireless still seems to be a problem, there is a driver for the RaLink RT2860. It loads perfectly, and networkmanager shows all access points. However, association with an access point does not work (after trying to associate with two different access points).

The temperature/fan sensors are supported by recent Linux version. Make sure that the f71882fg module is loaded, by adding it to /etc/modules. After loading this module lm-sensors programs should be able to pick it up
