A slight update

Pfew. The code now uses HAL, rather than Kudzu. The networking code has been cleaned up a lot, thanks to that change.

OK, so now its ready for all distros that use HAL ???

Once I saw a administrative utility (I forgot what it was, something non essential for me obviously), that asked at first start what distro it is running under and then you could use it for what it was built for. I found this a very nice idea, however I don not know how hard this is to implement or maintain ... so a restriction to the "big fishes" (xyz-buntu, debian stable, testing, fedora, maybe suse) would cause how much work? Or alternatively offer the possibility that others have the chance to integrate Koala into whatever system?

I have too much time for thinking out ideas I guess ...

Koala relies heavily on the Debian package tools. And I don't think it really matters, since there is a greater context coming ;).
