hello i am creating a system for a friend and i might need some third-party suggestions.

i told him i would build him a mini amd system if he got the money. (needs to be around 500$)

he does game all day with knight online (all day) but no serious games.

heres what i plan on making:

That looks like a very nice set up.

You might consider some removable media such as a CDROM, CDRW, DVD+-R, floppy drive, etc.

yes i have a few at home i can give him as well as a monitor, mouse and keyboard.

(update on video card)

is their anything i should improve on/downgrade depending on cost?

For a high end gaming system, I don't see many corners you could cut.

One thing that does seem a little on the low end is the hard drive size. 40 GB isn't much these days, you only save a few dollars not going to 80GB or more. It is easy and cheap to add a drive later, though.
