There was at one point a bug in phpBB that caused a similar error when the post contained certain sequences of caracters. Maybe the bug is back?

A workaround was to put the entire post inside 'code' tags...

I have had the same problem a couple of times. It started showing up after the last upgrade. I will see what I can find.

This may be a mod_security issue with Apache on the host provider possibly blocking certain word character combinations. I am working with them to try to find a solution.

Ah... of course. Some providers really goes over board when they make the rules for modsecurity. The default rule set is also way too strict for running a board I believe.

I had a little 'run-in' with my hosting provider a while back because it killed every instance of "sh", which is fairly common in the Norwegian language, and my site is for norwegian amateur writers. so you can imagine it was fun for a while :P I completly forgot about that because my site is not using phpBB so I confused it with an earlier phpBB problem...

Anyway, it should only be a matter of them checking the logs and find out what character combinations made the mod_sec kick in and then modify their rules.

Hope they'll get it fixed.

I have been in touch with the host provider tech department. We have modified the behavior for mod_security on this web site.

Let me know if any problems still exist or new ones develop.
