The latest version of the LFS LiveCD was released in May. It is just about time for the new release based on passed experience with LFS.
This pre-release version is very stable. Xfce stared up via startx without any manual configuration. That is an improvement from the last edition. Most of the included packages have been updated to recent releases, gcc is the 4.01 version. Not the latest but my experimental files compiled perfectly.
I find building Linux From Scratch enjoyable and satisgying. If you have extra box or just a spare partition, give it a try.
