Hm.
Hey, Sophos! Ever hear of Linux, you morons?
Also, I've noticed BBC rarely, if ever, mentions Linux or any FOSS, (other than Firefox of course)
What is it with these people?
After what was reported in information week (http://www.informationweek.com/news/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=190300378) about the MAC OSX "phoning home" three times a day to Apple, I sure as hell would not want one. Come to think of it ... I have never desired a Mac or any Apple product for that matter. And, just for clarification, allow me to put a time line on that -- ever.
krp
Apple has a high cool factor but I'll stick with stuff I can buy and stuff in a box myself.
I'm not quite sure where KRP stands on Apple.....

I take anything I read in the news with a little bit of salt. As everyone should knows journalist are required to have no less than 10% truth, by some that is stretching it.
Ask anyone that reads the Bild Zeitung, or watches FOX NEWS(?)

Complexity is Too Expensive
I've read the blog posts about various people switching from one OS to another and what it means for each OS, but I just keep coming back to the simple conclusion: I'm not interested in switching to something that's more complicated and less polished than what I use now. I'm not looking for new ways to spend time staring at a screen in frustration.

I bought a Mac Mini when I needed a new PC. It cost $900au plus monitor at $370au , total $1270au . This is roughly the same you would pay for just a fair PC at 10 times the physical size. But you don't get a operating system or any software.
All Mac's come with everything you need, the OS Tiger and iLife . Everything is so polished and easy to use plus has all the power of Unix. Tiger leaves every OS I have tried including Linux - Arch to Zenwalk , starting with Corel and Debian Potato or Windows - 3.1 to XP , for dead.
Thanks for the comments Rodney. Welcome to the forum.
