The Libranet forum archive is now online at:

http://www.debianquestions.com/ln-archive/

If you can not connect to this site yet, it may take some time until the DNS changes are propagated. Thanks go out to Tal for giving me a database dump of the Libranet forum, and to Jeff for providing the disk space and bandwidth which make this archive possible. Last, but not least I am grateful to all the Libranet users for building this community and making the Libranet forum such a great resource. You guys rock!

Hopefully this will help preserving a bit of history that we all were part of.

Take care,
Daniel

Thanks very much, Daniel. It was a real shock to see the Forum down and even the Libranet site itself gone.

Meanwhile, LN 3.0 is working fine. I haven't yet found a good reason not to continue with it.

Thanks for doing this Daniel.
There's a lot of valuable info in that forum.

Many Thanks Daniel for your part in preserving the Libranet forum archives. Congratulations to Tal for agreeing to it. I suppose in a way this is his final Libranet announcement.

Libranet T shirts, mugs and mouse mats are still listed for sale on Cafe Press.

Is that link working yet? I get a unknown host error. It's been a few days so the DNS should have propagated by now.

The link in the announcements works. Until the link from Tal's site is set up, please use the link here or at the initial announcement.

Thank youl, fos....

That link is still not working for me. I disabled caching in konqueror and cleared it, then used Firefox, but I still can't connect. Are you sure you are not pulling up a cached copy? I see from another thread it's not just me having this problem.

Nope! Doesen't work here either. Tried with Firefox, Konqueror and Opera...

You tried to access the address http://ln-archive.debianquestions.com/, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.

Server not foun
Firefox can't find the server at ln-archive.debianquestions.com.

The link worked for me yesterday and a few moments ago via the latest Firefox in LN3.

Hi Dean,

I'm sorry it isn't working for you. I have tried it through three different ISP's and it always works: (Bellsouth, Verizon, & Houston PAL).

I once had an account with EV1.net. They rarely updated their name servers and I was unable to get to hostgator.com. They weren't interested in fixing the situation so I changed providers.

That may be your problem. If you can, go to a library or some other location that uses a different ISP and see if that solves the problem.

I am in VA and have two conections myself - my charter cable connection which pipes out via AT&T and a WISP connection which pipes out via TelCove. I have tried changing to public DNS servers, local isp DNS servers and none of it seems to work with this link
http://ln-archive.debianquestions.com/

So I set everything back. Powered everything down, brought everything backup and still no change. Then I thought about trying the following address and see if it works...
http://www.debianquestions.com/ln-archive/
this link works just fine!

So now I am alll confused (as usual)

Hi Dean,

I'm glad you got it working!

ln-archive.debianquestions.com is a sub domain name to debianquestions.com.

The ln-archive is actually stored on the debianquestions.com server in the directory: debianquestions.com/public_html/ln-arcive

So, in effect you are just going directly to it's folder on the hard drive.

I'm really glad that it works that way. If anyone else is having the same trouble, try Dean's solution.

I should have thought of it myself! :(

I was No. 11 in the old Libranet forum as total number of posts. So I guess i'll never make it in the top 10, LOL.

Seriously though, it is a sad feeling. If only Libranet as a distro could be revived in any form...

Try: http://www.debianquestions.com/ln-archive

It always works for me. I don't guess I'll every understand the maze they call the world wide web.
