Phoronix has a new Linux hardware database on-line. You can create an account and add missing hardware easily.

Linux Questions has one also, but it seems to not have much despite it being around for a number of years.

I know there are some others, and this seems like a good place to post links to them. Then once we get all the links we can scrape the sites and build the uber hardware database.

and http://tuxmobil.org/ is a very valuable resource for anything concerning mobile computing and Linux.

Then of course http://linuxprinting.org/ handles the printers and multi-function devices.
