My cable provider has added BBC America to our channel lineup. Today I am watching "The Saint" and "The Avengers". Anyone remember Diana Rigg?

Now, if they will just show "The Prisoner".

Over here such programmes are common fare on the Sky Satellite TV Channels. Both of those shows were made on the Independent Television Network so I'm surprised to see the BBC showing them. Diana Rigg is now "Dame" Dianna Rigg and is recognised as a high quality actress. Who would have thought it?

As here in the states, I guess being a high profile entertainer is tantamount to being royalty.

PS. You can add sprts hero & politician to the above as well.

Of course she and Patrick MacNee made the Avengers truly awesome.

However, if you enjoy BBC programing, may I present to you Gilbert & Sullivan's light operas.

The BBC in conjunction with PBS made movies of each and every G&S light opera. They are *terrific*.

Do a Google for Acorn media. They distribute the DVD's.

My wife and I watch the Mikado quite often as the performers are the absolute best in the world.

I tried to get her cousin Dick to set us up on a date; but he said she doesn't even talk to him.
