I am thinking about experimenting with a home based server for learning purposes. My ISP charges $79.95 for one static IP address. If I actually lived in Houston, I could get one for $29.95 from Hal-PC including DSL service. :smiley6:

Have any of you used http://zoneedit.com (http://zoneedit.com/) for dynamic DNS services? I only intend to do this at home for a practice domain that I won't really publish. It is just to learn the ropes.

Thoughts?

I used dyndns for awhile and it worked fine. Most routers have built in support for updating it, so you do not have to use any update software on the machine.
