64 Studio is developing a collection of native software for digital content creation on x86_64 hardware (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD64) (that's AMD's 64-bit CPUs and Intel's EM64T chips). It's based on the pure 64 port of Debian GNU/Linux (http://www.debian.org/), but with a specialised package selection and lots of other customisations. Curious? See the FrequentlyAskedQuestions (http://64studio.com/wiki/FrequentlyAskedQuestions) http://64studio.com/

I don't know how well this thing work but I might try it. (one day) They don't say much about the supported hardware, though. I have a Delta 1010 audio card.
