NetBSD 3.1 release schedule

NetBSD is supporting Xen VPS. I downloaded both the amd64 and livecd versions to give it a try.

I'll report back after I try it out this weekend. It looks promising.

The LIveCD version of NetBSD was not produced by NetBSD. It is produced by an alternate group. It would not boot on my Athalon 3000+. It would only reboot the system regardless of the boot options I tried. It could be disk but it wasn't worth burning another.

I will try an install disk whenever I have a free box to try it on.

Tried netbsd-live-2007 via qemu. Looks rather nice.

I've reserved some space on a new 250gb drive for a new OS, and BSD is looking quite promising.

I may try the Debian variant (http://www.debian.org/ports/kfreebsd-gnu/) on a test machine.
