Your Brain Boots Up Like a Computer
As we yawn and open our eyes in the morning, the brain stem sends little puffs of nitric oxide to another part of the brain, the thalamus, which then directs it elsewhere.
Like a computer booting up its operating system before running more complicated programs, the nitric oxide triggers certain functions that set the stage for more complex brain operations, according to a new study.
In these first moments (http://www.livescience.com/humanbiology/060323_sleep_deprivation.html) of the day, sensory information floods the system—the bright sunlight coming through the curtains, the time on the screeching alarm clock—and all of it needs to be processed and organized, so the brain can understand its surroundings and begin to perform more complex tasks.http://www.livescience.com/humanbiology/060817_brain_boot.html

Here's an easy to follow flowchart for all those who say linux is complicated.

very interesting article about the brain. I was thinking the other day about time travel..but not traveling..more like sleping. Every night we go to sleep..we never know when itll hit us but it does by a chemical. what if we harnessed thst chemical and could inject it into someone as a means of "time travel" u could go somewhere and sit their for a year on this "sleeping mode" induced by the chemical. im sure u could do it for 1-5 years on this chemical without it damaging something. its not cryogenic freezing for 200,000 years but a short method i thought of.

lol- to the other links.
