Really neat little addon called NoScript (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/722/). Works on all versions of Firefox.

Tried it out and ... no problems. Does what it says it'll do.

"cookiesafe (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2497/)" is another usefull security extension.

Don't need the cookie one. Cookies are always disabled on my machine. It's the first thing I do with a new browser.
