How do I make mplayer the default, instead of Totem in Firefox ??? Ubuntu 6.06 with the latest version of both.

Do you have mozilla-mplayer installed? It's the mplayer plugin.

Everything was installed as it should. I finally got it to work by opening a video, select "other" and point to /usr/bin/gplayer. Now I can choose between Totem-gstreamer or mplayer.
