Micro drives ?

Has anyone used one of the new 1" microdrives? I am quite interested in them and would like some user experiences.

Are you refering to the drive that will fit into a CF type II bay?

Yes! Any first hand information would be most interesting.

I have an 1GB IBM Microdrive in a Canon G1 camera since 2001, the drive is slow
3600 rpm an energy hog: but reliable. At the time The CF card were about 128
meg and the same price. My The new ones maybe faster and drain the batteries
slower.


info for the drive is not to be found anymore in the IBM site, it is a Hitachi.

It looks like the market trend is moving away from CF to SD, which may not be
an improvement, just a cheaper solution for the consumer.

I am not sure if I would recommend it or not. I like it; but it maybe on its
way out.
