Is there any software for Linux to create (not burn a copy) a DVD from an avi or mpg file?
Thanks.

Videotrans
http://sourceforge.net/projects/videotrans/
http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=29676&group_id=129410
It will convert any file that mplayer will play into a DVD set of files.
It needs mplayer, dvdauthor and dvdtitler
Check the Dvdauthor page for more info and other links:

There's also DVDStyler (http://www.dvdstyler.de/)
It has a .deb package available in the downloads section and it's distributed under the GPL.
