Big changes for X

I read that X.org 7.3, due out next year, will no longer use xorg.conf, but will use Dbus to auto detect cards and monitors. So in the future we will be able to plug in a second monitor and it will 'just work'. We may also be able to change resolution without restarting X.

Wow, things have come a long way.

Didn't know that yet. But d-bus + HAL are really cool, so I can't wait :).

Thanks for the link! The X.org guys are doing good work, and we are getting further and further ahead of other windowing systems :).
