I saw this post (http://www.jeffreyjonesgraphics.com/) that talks about how great Pixel is. Pixel is another image editor compeating with Photoshop, but is multi-platform and claims to have more features then GIMP. I have heard some of the criticism of GIMP was that it was layed out different then PS, and that it did not support all image/color formats.

Pixel claims to solve these problems, but I have not heard of it before and it seems that it may be a scam, or like CherryOS, a rip off of a GPL project and re-banded. What say you? The Pixel homepage is at http://www.kanzelsberger.com

It's not, and you could easily prove that, because it was completely written in FreePascal, and uses its own graphics toolkit, that the author made.

It beats The GIMP in many areas, like CMYK support and adjustment layers.

Hi utek,

Haven't used it for a while (need to reinstall it but haven't had a need) but Xara Xtreme might be worth a look. I remember being pretty impressed with it at the time I had a need for a graphics program. Can't remember whether it supports CMYK or not though. It's probably closer to inkscape than the GIMP, but IIRC it included GIMP like drawing tools as well as vector stuff.
