View Full Version : Welcome Libranet Users
Welcome to the forum. The Libranet community has always been one of the most knowledgeable and generous that I have found. I hope this can be an alternative site that will foster the continuation of the Libranet community.
I hope you find it useful. The forum content and format can be modified to make it more suitable. Please post any suggestions and they will be addressed.
I am a big fan of Libranet and I hope it continues in some form. I still use it on my personal computer. Though I am trying various alternative distributions of my families computers, I still prefer Libranet 3.0. I would personally like to thank Jon, Tal, and Daniel for the polished system they developed. The quality, reliability, and support system that they built, are still unmatched in the Linux community.
Thanks,
Jeff

Dear fos,
as Libranet user from 2.8 till 3 I like your special area for Libranet.
Hope to find all Libranet friends here...
Best Regards,

Yeah I'm here, hope this forum does a nice lift-off. :-)
What about dropping a line of advertisement that this forum exists in some places where the Libranetarians can find it (other than the LN forum itself)?

It seems that a lot of frequent LN Forum visitors have come here :).
bq: good idea, do you have some ideas where and how?

Dunno ... I know mainly German Forums and as I remember there were not so many German Libranet users ... we should "spam" the LN forum with sticky posts first, I guess. That means 5 posts ...
Then we could search for Lavene: debianwomen or so ... http://women.alioth.debian.org/
Or if this exists and might be OK, use a LN mailing list to announce the end of moderation of the LN Board and pointing the users over here. I think the fist part would be OK, the second part (grabbing users) might look a bit ... however if some LN news other than the definite gravehowl happen it will be announced here as well I think, so also the second part wouldn't be like stealing users anymore.

I wouldn't worry about perception, at first I thought this would seem like the last gasp or deathknell for Libranet, but frankly, to everyone besides us, that was a long time ago.
Announce however you can.

Tina is easy to find:

Maybe she can repost her "Kernel compile and install on Debian systems" How-To (http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=4468)
here. It has a helped quite a few people.

I can post it at linuxiso.org and Kanotix.
I can also try to get a short article published at OSNews.
