I just bought this fairly new card from Creative.
It makes listening to music using the pc a totally new experience - fantastic - but in windows only.
Too late did i discover there is no support in linux (creative witholds info from alsa developers).
Creative is to make closed source drivers for this, alsa-compatible. They are to be released by the second quarter of 2007.
If they want to make sure it is properly supported in linux i suppose i just have to wait because this card is pretty good.
Or get an M-Audio card instead.
edit: Creative promised to make a linux driver (opensource.creative.com) but this will not happen. Also seems they are afraid an open source driver would bring to light bugs/problems that will endanger the Vista certificate for this product, so they will not give datasheets to alsa developers.
