Please pardon my foray into WinXP. ;)

The only box I have a DVD burner on is my Win XP w/ SP2.

I have tried to download the DVD version CentOS 5. After the download stopped at 2000 Mb a couple of times in a row, I tried to download it via my trusty Mini-ITX Linx box. It downloaded fine.

I use Firefox as a browser. MS's IE always generates an error message when I close IE out.

Does anyone know of a way to change the file download limit? I did a cursory yahoo search and didn't find anything satisfactory.

If I can't find a way, I guess I'll have to pony up for a slim drive version of a DVD burner.

Thank you,
fos

Humm. I didn't know that...

Aren't you networked? Can't you dl it with Linux and move it to your Winbox?

I am networked. I don't have samba set up.

Maybe sftp will work.

I'll probably give it a shot.

thanks, fos

Have you tried a download manager? I always had problems downloading large files via a browser when I used Windows on a regular basis. I installed FlashGet and it seemed to download files of any size without any problems.

I'll check out FlashGet.

FlashGet did the trick.

When I did a web search, I was sent to a page that was entirely Chinese symbols. The only thing I could recognize was a tiny US flag at the upper right. That took me to an english version of the page.

I installed it in WinXP. It automatically configured itself for IE. I had to set it up manually for Firefox.

It did the trick, no 2 GB limit.

Thanks,
