I purchased Etch cd's and performed my first apt-get update. Everything went smooth until the end of the update. This error appears:

W: GPG Error http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/non-US
NO_PUBKEY F1D53D8C4F368D5D

Not sure what that is trying to tell me.

http://wiki.debian.org/SecureApt , may be helpful

You could try adding the gpg key:

gpg --keyserver keyring.debian.org --recv-keys F1D53D8C4F368D5DWhich should result in:
gpg: requesting key 4F368D5D from hkp server keyring.debian.org
gpg: key 4F368D5D: public key "Debian Archive Automatic Signing Key (2005) <ftpmaster@debian.org>" imported
gpg: 3 marginal(s) needed, 1 complete(s) needed, PGP trust model
gpg: depth: 0 valid: 1 signed: 0 trust: 0-, 0q, 0n, 0m, 0f, 1u
gpg: next trustdb check due at 2011-09-20
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg: imported: 1then type: gpg --armor --export 4F368D5D | apt-key add -Which should result in something like:gpg: no ultimately trusted keys found
OKNote the trailing hyphen "-" in that last command is required

The non-us repositories are no longer used. They was actually deprecated as of Sarge so I don't know why you have it at all in your Etch sources. Just delete the non-us line(s) (or comment it if it feels safer) in your /etc/apt/sources.list

And I'm curious... from where did you buy the CDs?

Thanks BD,

Being the lazy linux'er that I am, I'll take Tina's suggustion and comment it out. If nothing bad happens over the next few months, I won't worry about it.

Tina, I got the cds from:
