The Oralux association is making the IBM Viavoice TTS runtime engine available for public purchase. It runs without modification on Ubuntu and Debian. The US price via Paypal is about $5.94.
IBM Viavoice is a pleasing text to speach software synthesizer that integrates well with emacspeak.
Oralux is the first group that has made Viavoice available since IBM stopped supporting the Linux version several years ago. IBM will only license blocks of licenses that cost$1500.
