Does anyone have experience with the Dvorak keyboard?

I have tried the Dvorak and the Frogpad single hand keyboard. After 40+ years with the qwerty keyboard, the transition was very slow. For me it wasn't ultimately worth the effort. I have often wondered how a different keyboard would help repetitive motion / carpal tunnel injuries.

I even had trouble with "Apple" keyboard. The bumps on the home keys were on the middle fingers instead of the index fingers.

PS. Pete, somehow when I replied to your message the forum software exchanged my message for yours. I replaced it with what I think was your original message. ???

How odd! Exactly what I asked though, fos.

I was wondering about the "unlearning" qwerty aspect of it. It is supposedly a more comfortable experience. I suppose it also is only really practical if you don't have to use keyboards in various locations. I have been putting stickers on an old keyboard to have a try but have found it really difficult so far. I'm really impressed that you can by a refurbished IBM clicker (which I love)here.

I am still interested in getting a Dvorak keyboard. Unfortunately, good Dvorak keyboards are insanely expensive.

I still had a couple of IBM clicker keyboards as late as last year. I may still have one.

I replaced one with this mini keyboard from Directron. I really like its feel. I am just about accustomed to the strange arrow key positioning. I can now freely move from a full size keyboard and this mini. It is much like using a laptop and a full size.

I am probably going to spring for one of the Happy Hacker Lite keyboards. I haven't used one but the key positioning looks really good. It also has a couple of USB ports on the keyboard which would be very handy as well.

The rebuilt IBM keyboards look like a good deal. Those things are built so well you almost need a reinforced desk to support them. The computers from that era were also very robust. Some of the early hard drives weighed more than three of my mini-itx computers and probably consumed three times as much energy!

I like my hhkb, though, IIRC they used to be sold with Dvorak layout.
