This news from distrowatch:

Still on the subject of BSDs, another excellent piece of news has reached DistroWatch: there is a good chance that the second quarter of 2008 will see a launch of the first print magazine dedicated to the BSD family of operating systems. Dru Lavigne (http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/unix/bsd/archives/articles-for-bsd-publication-20359): "I've been approached by a publisher who will be launching a print BSD Magazine at the beginning of Q2/08. If you're interested in submitting an article, contact me and I'll put you in touch with the Product Manager. The writing guidelines follow." And what will the magazine focus on? "The subject scope in general is BSD system seen from the practical point of view. This encompasses: latest distro releases; security aspects in BSD; programming BSD applications; networking; BSD multimedia; the edges of open source: what is it about, interesting projects, new concepts and ideas and more."

That is good news indeed,

Actually, Daemonnews also had a print magazine. They stopped after a few issues. I am not sure there is a huge market for it in 2007. The BSD population seems to have shrinked (not counting OS X), and there is a wealth of online *nix articles. Even most BSD news sites seem to be dead, dormant, or quiet these days (with the exception of Undeadly.org).

I purchase very few mags these days. I used to have a perennial stack beside my bed ready to read. I don't even subscribe to the newspaper any longer, the internet is more up to date. I still read one from time to time at the library.

Back in the early days of personal computers, magazines were a very enjoyable source of info. I particularly like Dr. Dobb's, C Users Journal, Byte, and PC. Once of the best was PC Source that was about 1000 pages of advertising with a few articles thrown in for good measure. I still receive a courtesy subscription to DDJ. Almost everything that is left is M$ centric.
