Is there any Debian bases software to use with the HP LightScribe drives?
Paul
Good question; I bought a Samsung Lightscribe DVD-RW but have not tried to burn a label. (I'm too cheap to buy the fancy media.) Does this help?

I haven't tried it out yet, but I've installed the lightscribe driver module and the lacie 4l application on my Asus notebook.
Apparently the lacie application is a bit more versatile, and uses the lightscribe module
It installed and starts with no errors, but I've yet to purchase any lightscribe cds to try it out..

You might want to get the latest lightscribe driver package from the lightscribe site.
version 1.8.15.1-1_i386
I downloaded the rpms and used alien to convert them to deb packages.
eg. $ fakeroot alien --scripts lightscribe-1.8.15.1-linux-2.6-intel.rpmand, as root # dpkg -i lightscribe-1.10.19.1-linux-2.6-intel.deb
And then the same for the application.
Call the app from a terminal $ /usr/4L/4L-guiOr create a menu item or desktop shortcut in the usual manner.
